Robotaxis outperform human drivers … According to a new study, Waymo’s driverless cars crashed 68% less often than human drivers over 50 million miles of operation between 2021 and 2024. The study — which collected data in Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas — also found that Waymo vehicles recorded 85% fewer single-vehicle crashes and 81% fewer injury-causing collisions when compared to human drivers.
