Sobering study … How much wine do you think is good for you? A glass a day? A few each week? According to new research published in BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine, the answer is none. The research found that even light drinking – just one to three drinks a week – was linked to a 15% higher risk of developing dementia. And the more people drank, the higher that risk climbed. Dr. Randall Turner, a psychiatrist and addiction specialist, says the main takeaway from the study is that there is no evidence at all that any amount of alcohol is good for the brain. In fact, quite the opposite. He adds that finding a link between booze and dementia could be a game-changer in how we understand alcohol and aging.
