A British study had people watching 50 of the best horror movies ever made, including “Paranormal Activity,” “A Quiet Place,” Stephen King’s “It,” “Halloween” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” Each participant wore a heart-rate monitor so their “scare levels” could be measured. So what movie was the scariest? The result may surprise you. Turns out it was a 2012 movie called “Sinister” starring Ethan Hawke. “Insidious” ranked second, followed by “The Conjuring,” “Hereditary,” and “Paranormal Activity” rounding out the Top 5.
