Red Bull may help you live longer?

Energy drinks have long been known to provide a much-needed caffeine and sugar boost to combat sluggishness, but at the same time it's understood that they're not the healthiest drinks you could be putting in your body. But now there's new research to suggest that they might actually prolong your life. Scientists say drinks like Monster Energy, Red Bull, and Celsius all contain a chemical called taurine. This amino sulfonic acid is often added to energy drinks and researchers say it has been found to slow the aging process in mice, worms, and monkeys. The levels of naturally occurring taurine in these animals decrease as they get older, but when fed a solution containing taurine, their lifespans increased by about 12%. The lab animals also gained strength, endurance, and a stronger immune system.
