AI mom … Kids aren’t just using AI to help with their homework. Seems they have figured out how to use AI to ditch school … by using it to mimic their parent’s voice. A recent Instagram reel went viral after writer Nathan Ramos Park shared the story of a friend of a friend's 13-year-old girl who used AI to mimic her voice and call out of school.
“Hey, this is so-and-so, Hallie can’t come into school today because she’s not feeling well,” Park says in the video. And it’s not just the one girl. All her friends did the same thing.
Park says the girl even used the AI voice to trick her dad into thinking her mom had given her permission to go to sleepover.
“This is just the beginning. Feeding your parents’ voice to AI to then use their voice to get you out of things? Like, it’s cooked,” Park says. “Why do they have to go to school, why do they have to do anything, have any chores, responsibility? This is wild. This is so wild. I can’t even imagine being a parent right now.”
