A brewery in Germany has created the world's first powdered beer.
This powdered beer doesn’t contain alcohol. But, it starts out being brewed like traditional beers -- before being turned into a powder that dissolves in water.
It sounds like they were trying to pull off a fun science experiment. But, they were also motivated by environmental concerns. They were funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Germany. Creating, bottling and then shipping beer -- which is heavy -- is definitely a burden and takes a toll on the environment.
If this product actually works -- and they can figure out how to add in the alcohol somehow -- they'll be able to deliver beer around the world ... in a lightweight powder form.
