Bonehead Of The Day:

Bonehead of the day for today comes from Providence, Rhode Island, where bozo Gary Davis walked into a convenience store and demanded cash. The convenience store clerk showed no fear and simply reached under the counter and grabbed a baseball bat, which sent him running out of the store. Undeterred, our bozo went next door to a dry cleaners and tried the same trick. Again, the employee didn’t seem to feel threatened and reached into a decoy register and handed him a fake $20 bill. Armed with a good description and some security camera photos, the cops were able to make a quick arrest. Oh, we did forget to mention one thing. Perhaps the reason the employees didn’t feel threatened was our bozo’s choice of weapon. In both instances he was armed with a potato which he pointed at the clerks.

West Virginia Man Arrested 3 Times In One Day

VIENNA, W.Va., April 30 (UPI) -- A West Virginia man had quite a day Tuesday, somehow managing to get arrested three separate times on three different charges, according to Vienna Police Chief George Young.

Gregory Allen Horner was arrested the first time while police were responding to a call about someone -- who turned out to be Horner -- using a fake prescription for Xanax at a Rite Aid pharmacy on Monday. While police were at the pharmacy investigating on Tuesday morning, Horner walked in with another fake prescription.

After being arrested for forging a prescription, Horner posted bond and was released.

A few hours later, police went to Horner's home for a domestic dispute and arrested him for domestic battery after his wife got a protective order, the NewsCenter reported.

Horner posted bond, returned to the home on Tuesday evening, and was arrested again for violating the protective order.

After his third arrest in seven hours, Horner was arraigned and immediately sentenced to a mandatory 10 days in jail.

New App Helps With Phobias & Anxiety

Russell Green used to be deathly afraid of spiders – live and in pictures. Now the psychiatrist developed a smartphone app to help others with the same problem.  “Phobia Free” works by slowly exposing sufferers to the object of their phobia.  They play a series of games with cartoon spiders, which start out as cute and harmless-looking but gradually become more realistic.

And there are other technological methods for fighting anxiety.  One of them is a software application called “Sam” – or the “self-help for anxiety management” app.  Lead creator is a psychologist and research fellow at the University of Western England named Phil Topham.  The reason he developed it was to combat the shame that some people feel regarding anxiety.

Not everyone is on-board with self-help apps.  Analytical psychologist Elizabeth Gray warns that even if they’re effective alongside more traditional forms of therapy, they shouldn't be a viewed as a replacement for it because therapy is needed to cure anxiety.
